From the 1st of November, Auchindrain will be operating in ‘Winter Mode’. This means that visitors are welcome at reduced prices. There are very limited facilities available, the buildings have fewer objects on display, and some parts of the site may be off-limits due to work in progress.
Here is what you need to know:
- we are open Monday to Friday, from 10am until 4pm, last admission 3pm;
- booking in advance is essential, although bookings are not for set dates or times;
- the Visitor Centre and toilets are closed;
- a guidebook, which includes a site map, can be collected from the porch at the front of the Visitor Centre;
- sometimes in winter we are closed completely because of bad weather or staff training; you should telephone 01499 500235 before setting out, to confirm that we will be open when you arrive.
So that everyone can stay Covid-safe:
- face masks must be worn inside all buildings;
- only one person or family group inside each building at a time;
- please use the hand-sanitising stations provided in several buildings;
- a one-way system is in place to guide you safely around the site.
