A Summer Snapshot
Last week, apart from the excitement of having a crew working with BBC Alba (they were here to shoot part of a programme about the development of housing in Scotland – look out for it), we’ve been getting on with some less glamorous, but very necessary construction and maintenance projects around the museum.
One of our fields that is not currently used by the sheep will soon become their home, so to keep them in for at least some of the time, we’ll be needing a gate! We put Thomas to work on it, and we think the results are absolutely fantastic.
We’ve also been laying a new gravel floor in Eddie’s Barn. The display in the barn is currently being refurbished, but this is the final stage. It won’t be too long before you can come and see the results.
We also have some guests up at the museum at the moment, in the form of some Xchange Scotland volunteers. They’ve been hard at work splitting logs while the weather was dry last week. These will be used to build a new bridge over our burn, opening up access to more of our fields – which means more space for you to explore next time you visit…
